Seacliff Construction wins electrical contract for digital library in Calgary

Canem Systems, the electrical contracting division of Vancouver's Seacliff Construction (TSX:SDC), has won a $10.4 million contract to supply and install all the electrical equipment for a digital library at the University of Calgary.

The new 265,000-square-foot Taylor Family Digital Library will provide multimedia educational resources for the university. It will incorporate information from the university's library with its other cultural resource departments and services.

The digital library is part of a three-phase $144 million CANA Construction Ltd. project that includes a new library, an expanded learning area, an art museum, Internet caf, presentation practice rooms, video conferencing, audio-visual viewing rooms, editing and recording suites, multimedia labs and computer-equipped classrooms.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2010.
