Fortuna Silver Mines Inc.(TSX-V:FVI) recorded a net loss of $2.8 million in 2007, despite a near tenfold increase in sales compared with a year earlier.
The company's sales increased to $31.7 million in 2007 compared with $3.4 million in 2006. With only two months of commercial production, Fortuna had a net loss of $4.4 million in 2006.
The company's main assets are the Caylloma Silver Mine in southern Peru and the San Jose silver-gold project in Mexico. The Caylloma mine had its first full year of production in 2007. The San Jose project is still in the engineering and permitting process.
