NBA superstar Steve Nash is continuing to see his brand expand across B.C.
On Wednesday, the two-time MVP and Phoenix Suns point guard announced that his Liquid Nutrition (TSX-V:LQD) franchises had sold out in B.C., paving the way for 20 of the health drink stores to open in major cities across the province, including Vancouver, Kelowna, Whistler and Victoria.
“I believe everyone in our province should be given the opportunity to maximize their health potential, that’s why I’m delighted to be the first to introduce Liquid Nutrition to B.C.,” said Nash.
Nash invested in the Montreal-based franchisor several years ago, adding to his portfolio of fitness-themed businesses.
In 2009, Nash bought the Fitness World chain of gyms and re-branded them Steve Nash Sports Clubs and Steve Nash Fitness World.
That company now has 17 locations, and Nash said this week Liquid Nutrition would open a counter top version of the health drink company at his sports clubs this fall.
At press time, Liquid’s shares remained unchanged at $0.65.
