In response to the furor over its $0.15 charge for incoming wireless text messages, Telus Corp. (TSX:T) said it will credit clients for any spam text messages they receive.
Beginning August 24, clients who a receive spam text message can forward it to 7726 with the word SPAM in the body of the message. Their account will be adjusted automatically.
Telus said its wireless clients have never been required to pay for spam text messages.
Beginning August 24, Telus customers without a text messaging plan will be charged $0.15 when they send or receive text messages.
