Surrey-headquartered Terasen Gas is launching a new compressed natural gas vehicle program to promote the use of the alternative fuel in B.C.'s transportation sector.

Under the new program, Terasen will support businesses by investing in developments like forklift conversion projects and by being a source of expertise for businesses looking to convert vehicles and fleets to natural gas.

The new program is aimed at helping businesses reduce their operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

About 40% of the greenhouse gases produced in B.C. come from the transportation sector.
