North Vancouver-based agricultural technology company TerraBioGen Technologies Inc. has filed a patent application for a plant growth promoter that its scientists have found to increase crop yield.
The company – which develops and markets proprietary technologies for the production of organic, high-value agricultural products from organic wastes – has been researching the active ingredients in its products for several years.
The patent application is the result of company scientists’ conclusion that its F4 plant promoter is a key ingredient in increasing crop yield.
“This validates the performance increase in our products that we have consistently achieved during field trials,” company president and CEO Blair Heffelfinger said in a news release.
“We will continue to isolate and identify additional active ingredients that impart the unique benefits our products deliver in enhancing agricultural yields.”
Calls to the company were not returned by press deadline.
