Today's A&W menu special: higher 2007 sales and net earnings

North Vancouver-headquartered A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund (TSX:AW.UN) reported a 6.7% increase in annual sales and a 7.1% increase in distributions paid to unitholders for the year ending December 31, 2007.

North Vancouver-headquartered A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund (TSX:AW.UN) reported a 6.7% increase in annual sales and a 7.1% increase in distributions paid to unitholders for the year ending December 31, 2007.

Sales from 660 restaurants in A&W's royalty pool rose to $638.7 million for the year compared with $598.5 million in sales in 2006. Increases came from a 3.7% increase in same store sales growth and the addition of six restaurants into the restaurant pool in 2007.

Royalty income for the income fund rose 6.7% to $19.2 million from $17.9 million in 2006. Distributions to unitholders rose 7.1% to $18.2 million from $17 million in 2006.

As a result of A&W's revenue growth, the income fund is declaring a special $0.10 per unit distribution to be payable February 29.
