Pitt Meadows-based Tranzeo Wireless Technologies, Inc. (TSX:TZT) has signed its second deal with an Indian communications provider.
The deal with Tata Communications will use Tranzeo’s broadband wireless access equipment to deliver network services to businesses and other large enterprise customers in 200 cities in India.
“This deal is very important to Tranzeo; India is very important to Tranzeo,” said James Tocher, company president and CEO.
Under the deal, Tata will deploy Tranzeo’s WiMAX and WiFi solutions to its customer base. Tranzeo will begin to ship its product immediately.
Tocher noted that this is the second deal Tranzeo has done with a large Indian communications company. Its first deal was with Reliance Communications.
“[Tata Communications and Reliance Communications] are two of the leading wireless providers in India, so using our equipment to give their customers Internet access is great,” he said.
Tranzeo manufactures wireless network equipment including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, WiMAX equipment and mesh network solutions. Its customers are wireless internet service providers, governments, campuses, military carriers, enterprise customers and systems integrators.
