British Columbia has appointed Bradley Doney, J.D. (Don) Rowlatt and Shelley Williams as independent securities commissioners, which brings the British Columbia Securities Commission total to eight.
Doney is a lawyer who has worked for Merrill Lynch Canada Inc., Midland Walwyn Capital Inc., the Toronto Stock Exchange. He has also been a member of the Pacific District Council of the Investment Dealers Association. He has served on disciplinary panels for three Canadian regulatory organizations and provided expert witness and consulting services related to securities markets.
Rowlatt is an economist and a professor of finance and assistant dean in the University of Victoria's faculty of business. He is on the board of the provincial health service authority and has also worked at the University of Saskatchewan. He received a doctorate in economics from Princeton University and a bachelor of commerce in economics from the University of Saskatchewan.
Williams is a chartered accountant and was vice-president and corporate treasurer of Finning International Inc. She has worked as treasurer at Crystal Decisions and Fletcher Challenge Canada.
