Canada's small businesses remain unsettled about the Canadian economy and still believe it's too early to tell if the worst is over, according to a survey by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).

In its sixth straight week of surveys, the CFIB reported a continued drop in its business barometer index, which fell to 88.1 from 90.5 last week.

Almost 10% of respondents expected their business performance to be weaker in the next 12 months; 33% expect performance to be somewhat weaker, up from 32% last week.

Concerns over credit continues to cast a shadow over the economy as 29% of respondents said that credit is harder to obtain now than three months ago.
