Vancouver-based ClearVision Technologies Inc., a developer and engineer of quality assurance (QA) products for corrugated box manufacturing, has been acquired by Detroit-based Valco Melton.
Valco Melton is a designer and marketer of QA systems and adhesive application equipment.
ClearVision was founded in 2004 by three engineers from the University of British Columbia with a mandate to help the corrugated box industry increase its quality control and improve its efficiency to stay competitive.
The company pioneered intelligent camera technologies for packaging markets and other products to improve industry QA capabilities.
ClearVision will become the new brand name for the Valco Melton quality assurance division.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, however estimates put the deal in the high seven figures.
