Vancouver’s FIRSTAR Sports is launching a line of sportswear this week inspired by Vancouver Canucks centre Ryan Kesler.

The line, named RK17, includes shirts, jackets, hats and other casual wear. FIRSTAR announced its partnership with Kesler last week.

The Vancouver-based designer, manufacturer and marketer of sportswear recruited Kesler as the first National Hockey League player to be part of its FIRSTline concept.

FIRSTAR’s FIRSTline will consist of a collection of high-profile hockey players who are working with the technically innovative company.

“I’m proud to team up with FIRSTAR to help introduce some of its hockey products to everyone,” Kesler said in a release. “It was the best kept secret in hockey but is quickly becoming more and more popular with players.

Ex-professional soccer player, John Catliff, who represented Canada in 12 FIFA World Cup qualification matches, heads FIRSTAR.

The company plans to work with high-profile athletes to develop and test its product technologies.
