Richmond-based Catalyst Paper Corp. (TSX:CTL) said it will restart one pulp production line at its Crofton kraft pulp mill on Vancouver Island because of improved market conditions.
The company plans to restart the mill in early October, returning 104 laid-off employees to work. The mill had been indefinitely curtailed in February removing about 400,000 tonnes of annual capacity.
Restarting one production line will add 210,000 tonnes of pulp capacity on an annualized basis. The company said production will continue as long as markets, mill costs and fibre ability support it.
Catalyst's share price range during the past week: between $0.205 and $0.22; 52-week high $1.37; 52-week low: $0.08.
