Call it a realty reality show. Vancouver’s Arc 2 Intertainment celebrated the launch of a new TV series on the Lower Mainland real estate market Friday.

Roughly 180 guests and dignitaries attended Friday’s soiree in Vancouver to celebrate the official launch of Real Estate 101, which premiered on KVOS Sunday at 6 p.m..

Produced by Andy Chu, CEO of Arc 2 Intertainment, and hosted by Maggie Cox and Crystal Carson, Real Estate 101 focuses on Lower Mainland real estate issues.

It includes interviews with developers and other movers and shakers in the Vancouver real estate business. Each episode includes a segment called “Real People, Real Problems” in which home buyers, sellers and realtors examine obstacles to buying property in one of Canada’s most expensive real estate markets.

Real Estate 101 is the second TV series to be produced by Arc 2 Intertainment, which also produces FMA Entertainment Weekly (also airing on KVOS on Sundays at 6:30 p.m.).

Friday’s launch also featured a fundraiser for earthquake relief in Japan. A silent auction raised $2,000 for the Red Cross Society of Japan.
