Vancouver's Capstone Mining Corp. (TSX:CS) reported record quarterly revenue and profit for its second quarter ending June 30, 2008.
Total quarterly revenue rose to $35.2 million from $14.7 million in the comparable period a year ago. Quarterly net profit rose to $12.2 million from $5.1 million.
A doubling of copper production and sales contributed to the record quarterly results. Copper produced increased to 6.7 million pounds, up from 3.5 million a year ago.
Capstone sold 6.8 million pounds of copper compared to 2.9 million pounds a year ago. The company also doubled its zinc and led production and sales.
