Vancouver tech firm Destiny Media Technologies (TSXV: DSY) has signed a deal with All Access Today Japan, Inc. to provide technology that securely delivers pre-release music to radio stations in Asia.

“This is a very big deal for us,” Destiny Media CEO Steve Vestergaard told Business in Vancouver. “Japan is the second biggest market for music in the world.”

Under the agreement, All Access will provide Asian radio stations with Destiny Media technology, including its Play MPE and Clipstream.

Play MPE allows record companies and artists to securely send radio stations their prerelease music samples via the Internet. In the past, CDs were sent. A special watermarking technology deters pirating because it shows where the music came from.

Destiny Media’s Clipstream technology, meanwhile, allows video and music to be streamed via the Internet without the need for audio or video players.

All Access uses the Clique Tools web content management system to engage fans at official artist websites and social networking sites. They have access to the artist’s work – through various devices – in the form of digital downloads, concert tickets and merchandise.
