The provincial government has announced that it will spend $2.1 million to improve Highway 4 on Vancouver Island between Ucluelet and Tofino to support tourism in the region.
Crews will be replacing roadside barriers and resurfacing portions of the highway.
Work will be done at various sites between Kerr Creek Bridge and Ucluelet junction.
Port Alberni's Yaner Bracht Construction will be do the work, which is expected to be completed by the end of October.
