Vancouver's Genco Resources Ltd. (TSX:GGC) has had to suspend work at its La Guitarra mine in Mexico because employees of SIMSA, its mining contractor, walked off the job.
The company said it anticipates the walkout will have little negative impact on its operations, although, depending on the length of the work stoppage, metal production might be below projected levels.
Genco may replace SIMSA if it's unable to reach an agreement with workers.
Genco's share price range during the past week: between $0.41 and $0.55; 52-week high: $4.50; 52-week low: $0.30.
