Canada has been bumped from its established position as the worst-performing developed country in taking action to counter the effects of climate change. After two years as worst performer in the annual ranking by Climate Action Europe and Germanwatch, Canada has been overtaken by Australia. The ranking by the nongovernmental organization is based a range of indicators, including carbon dioxide emissions per capita to the share of renewable energy in total power generation. In the latest report, Australia ranked 60th and Canada 58th.
