The biggest decline last year was 30% over 2012 in visitors to Upper Yarra in Victoria state, renowned for its nature reserve. Bundaberg in Queensland is known as “the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef,” but it is also rated as Australia's third-most homophobic city and tourism is down 20%. The number of visitors to Kakadu, Australia's largest national park in the Northern Territory, is down 17%.
