A software company in the Southeast Asia oil sultanate of Brunei has developed a program that facilitates the precision flying of drones. Teleconsult Sdn Bhd is hoping for a government grant of $650,000 to allow it to commercialize the software known as SkyEye. The program has been written specifically for telecommunications companies to allow them to quickly, easily and cheaply audit their transmission towers. This now requires two or three riggers to climb the towers and the auditing takes up to three hours. SkyEye allows one person to operate the remote aircraft and inspect a tower in 10 to 15 minutes.
