The military coup in Thailand is causing some chaos in the job market in neighbouring Cambodia. About 250,000 migrant workers have returned home for fear of civic upheaval in Thailand, but Cambodia's National Employment Agency knows of only 37,000 job vacancies. However, most of the Cambodians still want the better-paying jobs in Thailand, and many are going back, having decided the military is in firm control and civil disruption is unlikely. Cambodia's passport offices have been flooded by applications for new documents to work abroad.
