Dynastic politics are not faring as well in India as in Canada. Last year Rahul Gandhi and his Indian National Congress party were defeated by Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party. But now Gandhi, whose father, grandmother and great-grandfather were all prime ministers of India, is attempting a comeback. He recently met investors from Canada, the U.S., Britain, Singapore and Hong Kong and told them of his commitment to economic growth and redistribution in the name of social harmony.
