Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country in the world, and, as elsewhere in Islam, the festival Eid al-Fitr after the privations of the month of Ramadan is a joyous day. But the festival, known as Idul Fitri in Indonesia, is also a deadly affair on the roads as Indonesians either flock home for the party or parade around town in huge convoys of motorcycles. Only 163 people were killed in road accidents in Jakarta on the Sunday of Idul Fitri on July 27 against 270 people killed last year.CHINA
