The Indonesian government is to allow foreign investors to hold higher stakes in key local industries than has been allowed until now.

The biggest change is in seaport and airport management, from which foreign companies have been barred. Offshore investors will now be allowed to hold 100% ownership in these businesses.

Foreign investors will be allowed to own 85% of shares in pharmaceutical companies, up from 75%.
