The Indonesian government's ban on the export of unprocessed minerals is having severe repercussions on the Singaporean construction industry.

Contractors for several construction projects in the Lion City say they are being forced to delay work because of shortages of granite aggregate from Indonesia.

To fill the gap, the Building and Construction Authority is working with importers to ramp up supply from other sources. The government said it would release the national stockpile if necessary.
