Japan needs to hire thousands of foreign skilled construction and technological workers as it prepares for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Kazuo Tusubota, managing director of the Japanese International Manpower Organization, told counterparts in Bangladesh last week his country will need about 23,000 foreign workers a year in preparation for the games. However, it seems unlikely that Bangladesh will be a major source for Japan’s needs. Jobseekers must have minimum educational qualifications and speak Japanese.
