Malaysia’s AirAsia has been named the “world’s leading low-cost airline” for the second year running. The prize by the World Travel Awards is considered by some to be the Oscars of the air travel industry. AirAsia received the most votes from travel professionals from around the world, beating out other nominees airberlin, easyJet, JetBlue Airways, Jetstar, Kulula, Mango, Norwegian, Ryanair and Southwest Airlines. AirAsia has also been named Asia’s best and world’s best low-cost airline by travel consultant company Skytrax for six consecutive years from 2009 to 2014.
