It's official – partners at Vancouver law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP have approved a merger with Salans LLP and SNR Denton to create another new global law firm.
Business in Vancouver reported November 13 that the firms were in discussion over a proposed merger. The companies confirmed the merger Thursday. Fraser Milner Casgrain is now Denton's Vancouver.
The new mega-firm has 2,500 lawyers and professionals in 79 locations in 52 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America.
Salans LLP is based in Europe; SNR Denton has offices throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The merger is part of a trend, driven by increased global trade. In October, Fasken Martineau announced plans to merge with Johannesburg-based Bell Dewar.
