The BC Lottery Corp. (BCLC) is in the market for the latest slot machine and electronic table game technology.

A January 6 request for pre-qualification seeks vendors to supply or lease electronic gaming devices. Qualified proponents would be on a suppliers’ roster for up to five years, with annual renewal options up to a total of 10 years.

The document states that devices will need Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch certification prior to installation and device software must allow venue operators to configure limits for jackpots, credit, bills, vouchers and ticket printing.

“The device software must not be configurable below 75% return to player,” said the tendering document. “The device software must be able to accommodate the play from Canadian dollar notes, with denominations of five, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollars as well as ticket in, ticket out vouchers inserted into the bill validator.”

Deadline for proposals is February 24.

In 2014-15, BCLC and its private partners operated 9,797 slot machines and 505 gambling tables at 17 full-service casinos and 2,508 slots at 18 community casinos. It recorded $1.8 billion in gross casino and community gaming revenue for the year ended March 31, 2015.

Last fall, the BCLC sought consultants to help find new technology to attract younger gamblers to its lottery products and B.C. casinos.
