A Vancouver store that deals in Bitcoin has ordered a kiosk that can allow users to buy, sell and redeem the digital currency.
Bitcoiniacs – The Bitcoin Store purchased the ATM-like machine from RoboCoin, a Las-Vegas company that manufactures the machines.
"Basically, it just makes it easier for people to buy and sell Bitcoins and hopefully will drive the adoption of Bitcoin, and make it more accessible for people," said Bitcoiniacs owner Mitchell Demeter.
Bitcoin is a digital currency that can be transferred and used via computer or smartphone without an intermediary financial institution. The ATM will enable users to identify themselves using biometric ID, enter or withdraw cash and transfer money electronically using the kiosks and their smartphones.
Bitcoiniacs has bought four other kiosks, which are going to be delivered to Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
