And then there were two.
Leonard Brody announced Tuesday morning he was dropping out of the race to be the NPA candidate for mayor and throwing his support behind rival Kirk LaPointe.
Brody, the co-founder of NowPublic, made the announcement in an email circulated Thursday morning.
“I wanted to come to my own conclusion before the [NPA] board meets next week,” Brody said in the emailed statement. “Primarily, my decision was based on the fact that my business obligations prevent me from giving the job the time and care it deserves.”
Brody’s exit leaves former newspaper executive LaPointe and former park board commissioner Ian Robertson still in the running.
Brody added: “I have known Kirk LaPointe for a long time and believe whole heartedly he would make an excellent mayor for this great city.”
The NPA board of directors is expected to announce its mayoral candidate next week.
