A culture of diversity and tolerance is one of the reasons Canada is the third best destination in the world for expats, according to the results of an HSBC survey.
More than two-thirds of all respondents—69%—said they feel Canada is more welcoming to those of different races, faiths, gender or sexual orientation than their home countries. This is 26 percentage points higher than the global average of 43%.
Just more than half of all those surveyed—53%s—said Canada is a good place to start a business, compared with 38% worldwide. Almost three-quarters (74%) of all respondents say they are confident in the country’s political stability, compared with 51% globally.
Overall quality of life is higher in Canada than in respondents’ home countries, according to 68% of those surveyed.
