Mining consulting firm Mintec Inc. is suing Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. for allegedly failing to pay for research and analysis work on a mine development project, Cow Mountain, in central B.C.
Mintec filed a notice of civil claim against Barkerville in BC Supreme Court on January 22. The consulting firm claims Barkerville signed on in May 2012 for Mintec to provide reports on the project for US$225 to US$300 per hour. According to the lawsuit, Mintec sent invoices in August and September 2012 totalling $172,424 but Barkerville has allegedly refused or neglected to pay.
Mintec seeks the amount invoiced plus 18% interest since September 2012. None of the allegations has been proven in court and Barkerville has not filed a response to the suit.
