Gardeners and recreational users along the Arbutus Corridor train track may be able to breathe a little easier.
Canadian Pacific Railway will stop spraying herbicide and clearing gardens and other structures along the line as it meets with the City of Vancouver, according to tweets from the mayor’s office and Stepan Vdovine, executive director of Vision Vancouver.

"While the sides meet, CP Rail has agreed to suspend all track maintenance along the Arbutus Corridor for the next two to three weeks," the City of Vancouver said in a release.
Talks between the two sides on the fate of the disused rail line broke down earlier this year, when CP sent a letter to residents informing them the company intended to rehabilitate the line as a working railway track.
In early August, CP began bulldozing community gardens that had been created along the corridor over the past decade.
