Canadian law firm Osler is opening an office in Vancouver on August 12.

The firm, which currently has offices in Toronto, New York, Calgary, Montreal and Ottawa, hopes to do more business in the technology sector and to gain access to markets in the United States and Asia. It touted its long-time relationship with client Hootsuite, one of Vancouver's most well-known tech firms.

Osler's Vancouver office will be headed by Mark Longo, co-chair of the firm's emerging companies practice and will include Tom Isaac, leader of Osler's Aboriginal Practice, and Karen Sharlow, a member of the firm's market-leading tax litigation team.
