Kirk LaPointe’s NPA party has released the list of contributors to its 2014 municipal election campaign, a day after Vision Vancouver put out its list.
The total donations as of November 4 were $2,107,195.71, which is 6.4% lower than Vision’s total contributions of $2,251,348.17.
The biggest single donation was from the Great Canadian Railtour Company Ltd., which operates as Rocky Mountaineer, at $360,000. The executive chairman and founder of the company, Peter Armstrong, is president of the NPA. This contribution represents more than 17% of the total donations to the NPA.
This was followed by Haywood Securities, which donated $100,000, and Savary Management ($75,000).
The individual who made the biggest contribution was Israel Shafran, with $25,000.
Significant contributions from individuals came from former Whistler mayor Mark Angus ($17,500) and Mark Mache.
A contributor listed as K. LaPointe, possibly NPA leader Kirk LaPointe, donated $1,000 to the campaign.
