Vancouver-based PBI Actuarial Consultants Ltd. has announced a deal to acquire Montreal-based Actuaires-Conseils Bergeron & Associés Inc. (ACBA).
"The expansion of our activities in Quebec remains one of our strategic priorities," PBI president Tony Williams said. "This transaction allows us to strengthen our expertise and to expand our activities in Quebec, adding a proven, high-calibre team that positions the company well to continue its growth."
Pierre Bergeron, ACBA senior partner, also welcomed the deal.
"This integration gives us the resources to achieve our professional goals, which include the ongoing support of defined benefits pension plans in Canada," he said.
According to the companies, ACBA has approximately 15 employees; following the acquisition, PBI's staff will total more than 50 employees.
Bergeron founded ACBA in 1992; PBI was founded in 2008 and has locations in Vancouver and Montreal.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
