The Social Investment Organization (SIO), a national group with members across Canada, will be hosting its annual Canadian Responsible Investment Conference in Vancouver at Marriott Pinnacle Hotel from June 17-19.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Engaging for Change,” which will feature topics such as how to build sustainable financial markets and how to leverage investment to benefit both the individual investor and society.
Panel sessions include discussions on “Canada-China ESG Relationship,” “Aboriginal Communities and Extractives Industry: Is Conflict Inevitable?” and “Income Inequality and Investment.”
Keynote speakers at this year’s conference are:
Vancity CEO Tamara Vrooman, First West Credit Union CEO and former Starbucks president Launi Skinner and RBC Global Asset Management CEO John Montalbano. More than 40 additional presenters are scheduled to take part.
On June 19, the SIO will also be holding its annual general meeting.
