Anyone who purchased gem-grade diamonds or gem-grade diamond products between Jan. 1, 1994 and Oct. 14, 2016 may file a claim to get part of a $9.4 million court-approved class-action settlement, according to law firms involved.

Camp Fiorante Matthews Mogerman LLP, Siskinds LLP and Consumer Law Group Inc. today announced that $6 million in settlement funds are available now to compensate consumers and resellers impacted by the alleged price fixing. Defendants in the lawsuit, including various DeBeers entities, Anglo American PLC, Central Holdings Ltd. and others, did not admit wrongdoing or liability, according to the firms.

Individuals can file a claim to receive $20 without providing proof of purchase, according to the law firms.

Larger claims require claimants to provide proof of their claims. Anyone who wants to apply for compensation under the settlement must do so no later than Feb. 6. 2024, the law firms said.
