Three new members appointed to PavCo board

Rich Coleman, B.C.’s minister of energy, mines and natural gas, has appointed three new members to the BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) board.

The provincial government announced Friday that Peter Fassbender, David Guscott and Frank Palmer would begin their new roles effective immediately.

Fassbender, the new board chair, is the mayor of the City of Langley and president of Fassbender Consulting Ltd. His previous work includes 28 years as an executive with DDB Canada (formerly known as the Palmer Jarvis Group of Companies), and he has been on the board for PRIME-BC (Police Records Information Management Environment-BC) and World Vision Canada. 

Guscott, the president and CEO of Emergency Communications for Southwest BC (E-Comm), was VANOC’s executive vice-president, celebrations and partnerships. He was formerly with the government of Ontario as the deputy minister of communications and associate secretary of cabinet.

Palmer, the chair and CEO of DDB Canada, is the founder of Palmer Jarvis DDB and is an inductee into the Canadian Marketing Hall of Legends.

The following PavCo board members were appointed previously:

  • Suzanne Anton;
  • Michael J. Ballingal;
  • Theresa Breining;
  • Robert J. Bryant;
  • John A. Horning;
  • Alan Lowe;
  • Terrence A. Lyons;
  • Stuart O. McLauglin; and
  • Don R. Zurowski.

PavCo oversees BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre.
