Advertising and marketing agency Cossette is up for sale.

Private equity firm Mill Road Capital, which is the majority holder of Cossette’s parent company Vision7 International (V7i), has announced its plans to “explore strategic alternatives” for its North American assets.

“Vision7 management is supportive of the review and is playing a major role in the process,” V7i said in a press release, which added that the company “cannot speculate about potential outcomes.”

Cossette was first established in 1972 in Quebec City and has had an office in Vancouver since 1985. As well, Vision7 has other agency brands in Vancouver operating under another division, EDC, which include PR company Citizen, Jungle Media, Dare and Elvis.

Vision7 was formerly known as Cossette Inc., which was publicly traded until 2009 when it was taken private by Mill Road.

Cossette is the fourth-largest ad agency in Vancouver. Some of its clients include McDonald’s, Telus, the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Government of British Columbia.

The company has offices in Vancouver, Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Halifax and Winnipeg.
