BC Place is loaning its 100,000 square-foot plastic floor cover to McMahon Stadium in Calgary for use at the upcoming Alberta Flood Aid concert scheduled for August 15.
The plastic floor cover, known as the Terracover flooring system, is an interlocking system of plastic panels used to protect grass or artificial turf surfaces during events such as concerts or tradeshows.
"The goal of the concert is to raise funds and raise spirits," said Ken Cretney, CEO of stadium operator BC Pavilion Corp.
"We are pleased to be able to assist our entertainment industry colleagues, and support this very worthwhile cause by loaning our stadium flooring system."
More than 100,000 people were displaced from their homes because of flooding in Calgary in June.
Nickelback, Jann Arden, Randy Bachman, Tom Cochrane and Colin James are among the artists scheduled to perform at the concert.
