Vancouver’s Black Tusk Studios is rumoured to be working on one of the 15 new exclusive Xbox One games that Microsoft announced late last week.
Last week, Microsoft took the wraps off Xbox One, expected out later this year. The new console, along with Sony’s new PlayStation 4 console, are expected to give the console games industry a much needed boost in productivity.
In announcing the Xbox One console, Microsoft’s president of interactive entertainment business, Vancouverite Don Mattrick, announced that 15 exclusive titles will be produced in the first year of Xbox One’s release.
Videogame journalist Geoff Keighley reported that Mattrick dropped hints in an interview that one new title will come from Black Tusk, and said it would be announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles in June.
That may not be so surprising, given that Microsoft owns Black Tusk Studios.
A spokesperson from Black Tusk could not be reached to confirm the rumour. However, Microsoft’s career page lists 14 new positions in Vancouver, including a lead engineer’s position for a triple AAA title.
