People love reading about lawsuits, at least that’s what our analytics are telling us, with three of biv.com’s top 10 stories of the year involving the law (two involving Save on Meats and owner Mark Brand, the third about a Hong Kong billionaire with ties to Canada getting five years in jail for bribery).
Who’s Getting Sued was also one of the most popular pages visited, along with Business in Vancouver’s new Living/Working section which launched in September along with the new website.
But the top story overall was a story about the new CEO for Sears Canada calling it quits after just a year.
Taking number two spot was a fanciful story about Beijing building a high-speed train to Vancouver.
Then came the story about Umberto Menghi reopening Il Giardino, two stories about real estate (not surprising in real-estate obsessed Vancouver), both about dropping prices in Vancouver, the first about new home prices, the second about resale homes.
Then came an interview with IKEA Canada’s new president and rounding out the pack was a story on the effect of falling oil and gold prices.
Topping our lists was the Fastest-growing companies in 2013.
