CBC espionage thriller The Romeo Section is ready to chamber a second season.

The broadcaster announced Thursday (March 31) it’s renewing the Vancouver-shot spy series for a sophomore outing.

While myriad TV series are filmed on the West Coast,The Romeo Section has the distinction of actually taking place in Vancouver.

The CBC show was created by Vancouverite Chris Haddock, whose writing credits include HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and CBS’s The Handler.

Prior to The Romeo Section, Haddock also created Vancouver-set Da Vinci’s Inquest, Da Vinci’s City Hall and Intelligence.

All three of those B.C.-shot productions were given the green light by CBC.
