The City of Langley is looking for a new logo and slogan.

A request for proposals issued June 22 has a July 14 deadline to seek experts in corporate branding and visual identity.

The 1955-incorporated, 26,000-population municipality uses a coat of arms for both official business and corporate branding. It has no plans to mothball the coat of arms, but for all other business the city wants to develop a corporate brand and visual identity guidelines that reflect the community as a major urban centre, with “great shopping and dining, world-class education and entertainment facilities, extensive recreational opportunities, community events and over 346 acres of parkland with the ambience of a small town.”

City of Langley’s objectives include to “create a distinct, unique brand for the city that will attract investors, visitors and residents. The brand will be flexible to allow for application in marketing for businesses and tourism.”

The project, capped at $30,000, includes a brand audit review, discovery and research and brand book and will run through November.
