Vancouver-based D&M Publishers Inc., which includes Douglas & McIntyre, has announced plans to restructure under creditor protection.
The company announced yesterday that it has filed a notice of intention to make a proposal under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
The company said that under this process, D&M management will be working with the Bowra Group Ltd. to find an investor or purchaser for its assets.
The company said it plans to carry on its operations during the restructuring process.
The company noted that its subsidiary New Society Publishers Inc., which is a separate legal entity, has not filed a notice of intention. The subsidiary’s activities will continue as usual.
According to its website, D&M Publishers has been in operation for more than 40 years.
