Vancouver-based corporate film company Go 2 Productions has won eight awards at the New York-based Telly Awards.

Founded in 1979, the international awards honour “the finest film and video productions, groundbreaking web commercials, videos and films and outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs.” The awards receive more than 11,000 entries annually from five continents.

“This is the first time we’ve entered any of our commercials into an awards ceremony – to walk away with eight awards from a worldwide competition like this is an absolute honour,” said Adrian Scott, co-founder and creative director at Go 2 Productions.

The awards’ highest honour is a Silver Telly statuette.

Go 2 Productions’ awards, all for local TV commercials, were:

  • a silver award for sound/sound design, and a bronze award for videography/cinematography for Living in Denial, produced for the Sunshine Coast Health Centre;
  • a silver award for not-for-profit production and a bronze award for sound/sound design for Impaired is Impaired, produced for MADD Canada;
  • bronze awards in the business equipment and services, visual effects and lighting categories for Monster, produced for Padgett Business Services; and
  • a bronze award for use of humour for Don’t Eat Rocks, produced for PlantCal.

Last November, Go 2 Productions and other Vancouver-based corporate film companies told Business in Vancouver that their industry is seeing growth. (See “Showtime for B.C.’s corporate film industry” – issue 1152; November 22-26, 2011.)
