Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines please.

This Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7, Canada’s most valuable collection of supercars and luxury vehicles will roll onto the lush, manicured Great Lawn at VanDusen Botanical Garden for Luxury & Supercar Weekend.

This annual showcase of fine automotive, fashion, art, food, wine, spirits and other luxury goods, now in its fifth year, will include exotic supercars, vintage collectibles and concept cars handpicked by the Concours d’Elegance auto committee and valued at more than $100 million.

Among the rarest-of-the-rare roadsters set to rev the event:

·  a Mercedes-AMG performance division-built Pagani Huayra, powered by a 720-horsepower twin-turbo engine;

·  one of only seven McLaren P1 limited-production plug-in hybrid supercars in Canada;

·  the debut Canadian public showing of a 2015 Lamborghini Huracán LP 610;

·  a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, considered the most advanced electric supercar ever produced;

·  the ultimate electric luxury car – a 2015 BMW i8;

·  a 1933 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS six series that’s said to be the “most important collector car in Canada” (it won gold at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy);

·  one of only 28 1957 Maserati 200SI racing cars ever built; and

·  the only Canadian-built hot rod – J.F. Launier of Osooyos’ 1964 modified Buick Riviera – to win the prestigious Ridler Award in the past 40 years.

That’s enough horsepower to make even the most well-tread fans of Top Gear drool.

Though the thrill for most attendees – who will undoubtedly be dressed in their finest “garden-party chic” attire – will be getting up close and personal with these and other street scene-stealers, the Luxury & Supercar weekend promises plenty of other types treats, too, including:

·  six designer runway fashion shows at the Oakridge Centre Fashion Pavilion;

·  refreshments by top local restaurateurs West, Boulevard, Hawksworth and Secret Location; and

·  a collection of VIP lounges where those 19 years and over can sip, savour and rub shoulders to their hearts’ content.

Tickets, starting at $50 for a single day and $100 for VIP entry, are available at www.luxurysupercar.com.
